A visit of two halves
文特加峡谷（Soteska Vintgar）的点评
点评：As others have said this is a trip of two halves. The website to book tickets is easy to use, there is plenty of parking at their park and ride car park and regular shuttle buses to take you to the start of the gorge. There are toilets, a cafe and souvenir shop at the entrance. You enter and collect a helmet at your appointed time slot (and not a minute before).
Walking through the gorge was beautiful, an easy stroll along boardwalks which cross the gorge at various points. Some parts are simply stunning with rapids. Others parts are calmer where you can appreciate the colour of the water. At the end there is a cafe where you return your helmets and you can wander down to view the waterfall.
With the gorge visit done you then have the second longer walk back to the shuttle bus stop. The first part of the walk is a steep climb through the forest. I’ve added my Strava record so you can see the route, elevation and distances. There are signs saying the time to the end but the first set of these signs brought us to a cafe and not as we thought to the end of the walk. None of us were impressed to find that it was a further 25/30 walk to the bus stop. The walk along the hillside was beautiful but in full sun so it was rather hot. It took us an hour to walk from the gorge end to the bus stop. You would not want to do this walk if you have mobility issues and I would not want to do with young children. It’s a shame they can’t find another way to leave the gorge which is less strenuous/shorter. Perhaps the walk back is part of the price for seeing the beauty of the gorge.

参观完峡谷后，还需进行一段较长的步行才能回到接驳巴士站。这段路程的前半段是穿越森林的陡峭上坡路。我附上了自己在Strava上的运动记录，供大家查看路线、海拔变化及距离信息。有指示牌标有“到达终点所需时间”，但第一组这样的指示牌把我们带到了一家咖啡馆，而并非如我们所想的步行终点。发现离公交站还有25到30分钟的路程后，我们都没什么好高兴的。沿着山坡的步行路线很美，但阳光强烈，天气相当炎热。我们从峡谷尽头走到公交站花了整整一个小时。如果你行动不便，就不适合走这条路线；有年幼的孩子的话，我也不建议带他们来。真遗憾，他们找不到另一条更轻松或更短的路线来离开峡谷。或许这段回程的路程就是欣赏峡谷美景所必须付出的代价吧。
