点评:Good carparking facilities £5 though free to NTS members (leave your card on the dashboard). A broad path follows the river until you reach Sir John Fowler suspension bridge ( notable for using hawsers not chains). Max 6 folk at a time on the bridge. Great views down into this gorge which was carved out by rocks, ice and water from glaciers. The NTS have created an observation platform further along the gorge so you get slightly distant views of the bridge, but at least the powerful setting is revealed. I'd suggest gorge watchers should see the even more remarkable gorge at Evanton.
The geological signage is not as good as at Knockan Crag, which is also part of the Moine Thrust.
The cafe is fine but not outstanding. Good coffee, nice place to sit, but an over reliance on disposable cups and the bakewell tart came in a plastic box which is an unnecessary bit of yet more waste: the cafe prides itself in its eco credentials but fails on the rubbish front! Go to Elphin Tearooms for a better experience.... Perhaps.
