点评:Speicherstadt is a city of warehouses built between 1883-1927 and is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is about 1.5 km long and is on the southern edge of the historic city center in Hamburg. The warehouses are built with a Gothic revival style and there are quite a few museums and attractions here but just walking around is pleasant enough. One of the big draws here is Miniatur Wunderland which we found out you should consider booking long before travelling to Hamburg and had a long wait time even for people who had booked tickets.
We spent about an hour in this area and enjoyed walking around the buildings and bridges. We did a self guided walking tour in Hamburg and saw a lot of the city sites walking from the grand city hall to the warehouse district. If you walk straight from the town hall it would take about 12 minutes so it is very walkable. Nearby is the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg which has a large and free platform to get sweeping views of the city and the Elbe River.
There are many cafes, restaurants and shops surrounding the area. Speicherstadt is definitely worth a stop in Hamburg.
