Landmark Church Near the Elbe

点评：The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is between the Dresden Castle and the Elbe River. We went around 5:30 pm and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The outside is spectacular with an ornate and dark design and the inside contrasts the outer appearance greatly with its bright interior.
We spent about 20 minutes in the area checking out the church inside and outside. The Schlossplatz is the best spot to take a picture of the exterior and from here you can see the bridge that connects it to the Dresden Castle. This church is Catholic and was originally built for the ruling family because the city was mostly protestant at the time of the churches founding in 1739.
There are guided tours of the church and crypt that are available monday-friday at 14:00 and Saturday/Sunday at 13:00. We included this church as a stop during a self guided walking tour because there is a lot to see nearby. There isn't much for shops and restaurants in this area but plenty of good options can be found about 5 minutes away.
