点评：We recently did the Slumber Safari overnight stay at Werribee Open Range Zoo with a group that included people with physical disabilities, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish.
The staff were incredibly accommodating and supportive, especially Megan, who went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and included. We were never rushed through any activities, and having contact numbers provided gave us real peace of mind in case we needed assistance throughout the stay.
The safari bus experience was a highlight – the team took their time to ensure every participant, whether in a wheelchair or not, had a clear view and felt safe and comfortable while seeing the animals.
The food was fantastic, with plenty of options and great attention given to dietary requirements. The rooms were also excellent, and the staff were more than happy to rearrange things so we could make the most of accessible spaces, including rooms with wheelchair ramps.
We also really appreciated being able to store our bags at the main camp area even after our allocated stay had finished – it made the whole experience feel relaxed and flexible.
Every staff member we encountered was friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about making the zoo more accessible. It’s clear they care about creating an inclusive experience for everyone, and we can’t recommend it highly enough.
Overall, our experience was fantastic, and it’s clear a lot of thought has gone into making the program inclusive. If there was one area for ongoing improvement, it would be continuing to enhance wheelchair accessibility across all areas of the experience. While staff were incredibly supportive and accommodating, any further improvements to physical access would make the experience even more seamless and comfortable for participants with mobility needs.
