The Gibraltar National Museum的点评
点评：Given Gibraltar’s position not only between two continents but also straddling two major seas, it’s not surprising that it has been occupied for tens of thousands of years.
This longevity is well reflected in this very good museum. It has a section on Neanderthals and our other prehistoric ancestors.
Remains of a Moorish bathhouse that was built during the 1300s is another excellent picture of life during the many centuries.
With the Great Siege being such a major event in its history a room is dedicated to those terrible four years under attack. A cogent display here is an iron furnace that was used to heat the iron shots to red-hot before firing them towards the enemy.
An anchor that looks like it’s of stone is actually a lead one from Roman times that was found in 1957. A great artefact.
