An exuberance of flowers at Chichester Cathedral

点评：To the last day of the Flower Festival at the Cathedral. The hanging displays in the main aisle were pretty stunning; it seemed crowded at first, but then the crowd dissipated as those who had booked for the 9.30am slot began to move on.
It was good to see what appeared to be English flowers and even wild flowers in use, rather than exclusively arty floristry arrangements. We particularly liked The Arundel Tomb, but maybe that's because of the association with the poem.
On the theme of literary associations: I was disconcerted to see that Frances Hodgson Burnett's name had been spelled incorrectly, with an 'i'; would it have been so difficult to get it right? After all, the book was placed right next to the display...
Personally I do not like volunteers approaching me to ask if I am all right (I walk with a stick), but I suppose they mean well. Also I didn't go a bundle on the piano music (Red Roses for a Blue Lady, We'll Gather Lilacs', etc); some quiet classical music might have been more appropriate.
The cost of the tickets was very high (and we had pre-booked); it would be interesting to know how the price was arrived at. But overall we were glad we went.
