Pretty horseshoe shaped valley with pretty pond - worth a visit if in the area

点评：I visited Asbyrgi as part of a cruise ship excursion from Akureyri and really enjoyed our short stop here. We parked near the visitors centre and toilets and our group took the path down to the pond (known locally as Botnstjörn). It was an easy stroll, although there were some steps to navigate along the path. The water was so clear and the horse-shoe shaped cliffs tower all around you. It was really beautiful.
Before leaving the pond and heading back to the bus I took the path to the right of the pond which led to a viewing platform that looks down over the pond, which was well worth checking out for the scenic overlook. If in the area it's worth making a diversion to Asbyrgi (and the toilets are free).
