Delightful trip, disappointing Afternoon Tea

点评：Heard many good things about this little railway, so whilst holidaying in the vacinity, we decided to treat our elderly mum to Afternoon Tea on the steam train.
The train appeared to be hauled by diesel engine, with the occasional toot of the horn from the steam engine. My other half, wasn't over impressed by this as he is the steam train nut.
Afternoon tea, presented to us shortly after being shown to our seats, can only be described as underwhelming and disappointing. Three tiny finger sandwiches, with a choice of filling, tuna, ham and mustard and one other which I forget. You couldnt mix and match filli gs per person, you had to choose one filling each. The Tuna did taste lovely. One tiny bitesize plain scone each, with a tiny pot of jam and cream. One macaroon, small peice fruit cake, a tiny tiny pot of lemon posset. One plain meringue and one peice of fudge each, which had melted beyond recognition due to it being a hot day. Choice of tea and coffee.
Was this worth the extra we paid for the journey, NO I don't think so.
The trip itself provided lovely scenery.
Staff very friendly and professional.
Seen it, done it, won't come again, which is a shame as we like to support steam Railways whilst out and about the UK.
