There’s a lot of confusion online about what and where the silver pagoda is. We thought it was one of the 4 gray coloured structures on the grounds, but it’s not – those are called “royal stupas”. The silver pagoda is actually the main building where the green buddha resides. It’s called the silver pagoda because the floor’s made of reflective silver tiles. Most of the floor is covered in carpet, so you might miss it, but if you look around the edges, you can see the “silver” tiles. We asked one of the cambodians working there, and she explained to us that it’s this building and why it’s called a silver pagoda. Anyway, there’s a lot of misinformation and wrong depictions of what the silver pagoda is online. If you google “pictures of silver pagoda”, most of the shots are of one of the whitish-grey stupas.
