惠特比修道院的点评
点评：First time I'd been in the Abbey even though I visited Whitby at least twice a year in the 60s & 70s as I'm born and bred from Middlesbrough, 'sad how we don't visit places on our own doorstep'. We drove out from Bognor Regis and stayed in Redcar.
We were lucky enough to find a parking place on East Cliff overlooking the harbor and Abbey, what a vista, took girlfriends photo standing next to Whale jawbones with the Abbey in the background. The 199 steps to St Hilda's Church and Abbey weren't as daunting as I remember but as my girlfriend has MM & Fibromyalgia they nearly killed her, thankfully there's a benches to rest on the way up.
When we got to the Abbey they was a Dracula costume performance underway and very loud. We didn't watch it we just looked at the ruins and took photos.
The museum was really interesting with loads to look. The museum shop was pricey but that's only to be expected.
All in all it was a good day and as I'm a biker and my girlfriend is a biker/goth we're visiting again for the Goth weekend.
