My first outing of 2025 on Grey Ghost

点评：First chance out with Jimmy for 2025 and anticipation was high given the cracking trips in previous years.
Wind put paid to any chance to get out of the Haven so an exploration of the bays and reefs inside the Haven was the result. Jimmy used his detailed knowledge to head over to a likely area and as usual, he set Grey Ghost up for the perfect drift. He always makes it look so easy, but there's so much skill and experience in judging where wind and tide is going to send the boat and it saves so much time. We were straight into schoolies, nipping at soft plastics that I more of less let the drift of the boat fish for me, a very slow retrieve was all that was needed to keep just above the snags. 3rd or 4th drift in and bang, im connected with a decent bass that was soon on the boat. The session continued with lots of location changes, so much good ground to cover even in the Haven and plenty of opportunity to switch between soft plastic, jigs and topwaters. And it was a topwater that accounted fot bass number 2, a spitting wire absolutely smashed on the surface by another decent keeper bass. There really is no more exciting way to catch bass than using s surface lure, its addictive.
Great session, great skipper, great boat, expertly guided to locate the target species in what weren't the easiest of conditions. Thanks Jimmy !
