点评：For those unfamiliar with Romance languages, “lindo” in Spanish/Portuguese means pretty or nice, in the masculine form. Lindos is an archaeological site, fishing village [with phenomenal seafood restaurants] and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Rhodes, of which it is a municipal unit amongst many, sort of like Manhattan is part of New York. Rhodes an island about 69 square miles or 44,200 acres. Compare that to Rhode Island’s 1,545 square miles. It is located only ten miles from the Türkiye coast. Curiously, the city of Rhodes is about 25 miles from Lindos. Lindos was founded by the Dorians, who arrived about three thousand years ago. That beats Columbus’s Caribbean cruise.☺ The acropolis of Lindos was dominated by the massive temple of Athena Lindia, which attained its final form around 300BCE.
It is difficult to know when you are in or leaving Lindos. Lindos and Rhodes contain many separate segments identified by Tripadvisor, such as Lindos Acropolis, Rhodes Acropolis, Old Town, Medieval City—and more beaches than in Florida. It’s best to research all Lindos-Rhodes has to offer before arriving.
