Beautiful Bantham Beach
Bantham Beach的点评
点评：I have been very blessed with summer temperatures in late April and I could really use all that Bantham Beach had to offer.
I stayed in Longtails Cottage just half a mile up the lane to the village, I still drove to the beach as I had a car full of paddling equipment.
The carpark is card payment only and the lady at the gate was very cheerful and full of knowledge of the area. I thought £7 is really reasonable for the day as Brighton cost me £32 the previous weekend, there is ample room to park and no height barriers. Gates close at 9pm.
The beach has a toilet hut which was very clean and had supplies.
2 Gastrobuses were stationed by the beach, one sold ice cream and the other had a pizza oven, reasonably priced and very delicious.
The beach is a paradise for surfers, swimmers and rock pooling, It was reassuring to see there is a life guard hut and many First Aid stations and defibs around the area.
The sand is golden and the sea is crystal clear, around the Ham is the Estuary that joins into the River Avon, at mid to high tide this is a peaceful stretch for paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming.
The estuary has a couple of Quays which are perfect for launching crafts or just sitting watching the wildlife.
There is a village shop and a pub that sells food and Sunday lunches.
The charm and unspoiled landscape of Bantham makes for a perfect base to walk a part of the SW Walk to Cove, 6 mile round trip.
