点评：Athens is the perfect balance of chaos and order and Anafiotika is no exception. The beauty of the island inspired traditional whitewashed homes rise above some of the most amazing and unique street art I've ever witnessed in an urban centre.
The village settlement built in the mid 1800s by construction workers, who came from the island of Anafi (hence Anafioika) to build King Otto's palace. Constructed illegally, the neighborhood grew to create a picturesque village-like landscape under the mighty Acropolis.
The graffiti that adornons the alleyways underneath this makeshift village is an ideal 'gallery' to represent the repression of the working class hero and showcases the rugged beauty of the underbelly of Athens marrying mythological and political expression. The street art is a vibrant and characteristic element of the neighborhood's identity.
Explore this area with time on your hands and a willingness to travel up and down narrow streets and some darkened alley ways with a curiosity. The visual rewards at every twist and turn will inspire awe and amazement.
