Archaeological Museum of Piraeus的点评
点评：Visit in this museum gives you a possibility of getting know, how ancient city of Pireus was functioning. The museum has many of amazing artefacts representing different periods - bronze, Roman, Hellenistic.. It is true time travel.. My favourite piece is statue of Athena - well preserved, majestic statue is representing bronze era. You will find amazing grave reliefs, funerary monuments, archaic sculptures and hundreds of small finds from Mycanaean to the Hellenistic period.
I recomend to visit the Hellenistic theatre at Zea on the Museum garden - another reflection of life and art in ancient Pireus.
The museum by itself is well-organised, the floors are divided in chronological order. If you are fed up with crowds in New Acropolis Museum, choose Pireus - you will not be disapointed. It is much more cameral, but in the same time rich in historical pieces. The calm atmosfere helps visitors with getting conection with ancient history.
During my time in Athens, i visited Museum twice and will definately come back during my next visit in Athens. Enjoy!
