点评:We took the two hour tour and enjoyed every minute of it. Much of the tour is on a small 14 passenger bus, driving slowly among the beautiful Long Leaf Pine trees to visit the various small areas where the enslaved workers lived. Originally there were several plantations with separate buildings preserved much as they were then. They all were eventually sold as one to Bernard Baruch, whose oldest daughter,Belle, eventually acquired the property and devoted her life to preserving it. The Baruch home is open as part of the tour and its site on the Waccamaw Bay is gorgeous with 300 year old live oaks on the lawn. You get to see what the area looked like before all the development. Jeanne, our tour guide, made it interesting and told about the animals, plants, and daily life over the years. It was entertaining and lovely to be out in nature. Very worthwhile.
