Great insight into Vermont's different Revolutionary experience

点评：I think your experience may depend largely on your guide. Dan gave us insight into why people living in what is now Vermont felt no strong loyalty to either the Crown or the revolutionary movement. Retaining their land was their primary motivation and they acted in what seemed their best interests at the moment, switching sides as time passed.
Definitely see the movie and museum first.
Because our guide was so knowledgeable, we learned things we did not know even though we have a deep interest in the Revolutionary War period and have lived in New England all our lives.
Adding to our great experience was their "Flaxtravaganza". The women (and one man) reenactors explained and demonstrated the immense amount of labor that went into growing and processing an acre of flax tha vielded a small skein of thread.
It was a hard and often precarious lifestyle. But we also saw people who lived far apart, gathering as a community to process the flax in an assembly line while sharing tools, childcare, food, and company!
