点评:We attended a performance by Plays in Place on Saturday. It was great. I never knew there was a copper mine in Ct much less in East Granby! The play highlighted the inequities and view points of loyalists during the American Revolution. It gave us a different perspective on why the Loyalists were Loyalists. I gave this play a four star rating just because one part was in the actual copper mine. To be fair, not only did they warn participants about the mine, and issue many warnings about the pitch and slippery ground also provided an alternative presentation not in the mine, but personally I felt the need to do the mine portion! It was horrible!!! Dripping water and rusty railings not to mention the fear of bats! I decided to do the mine portion to get the full experience that the inmates had to endure. 75 ft below ground and no lights ( we had lights) made me wish that the convicts today had to experience this. It was well worth the visit. Unfortunately, the Plays in Place performance ends soon but a visit to the mine is very eye opening.
