点评:This is one of the best kept parks and historical places that I have been to. It offers a lot for free and could be good for large groups and get-togethers. It is about 2 miles off SR 50 on the north side. It was very clean and offers visitors the opportunity to step back in time to at least 3 different periods: Fort Christmas time(1837), Homestead era (1890-1927), and the early 20th century (1906-1953). There is both paved and unpaved parking. The buildings are all extremely well maintained and self-explanatory. You can walk through most of them and see how life was at that time period. The more recent buildings are near the front of the park with the older buildings in the back. I thought is was VERY well kept and I had a wonderful time looking through the books in the school as I remember some of them. This is one of the few places where most of the buildings and rooms are accessible to the public to walk through and experience what it was like for the people who lived there at that time period. The Fort seems somewhat simple until you enter the blockhouses which are air conditioned and a treasure trove of memorabilia and history. Overall, I thought this was a great experience and highly recommend it for fellow travellers interested in Florida history.
