Extremely underwhelming and overpriced

点评：I have to be honest and say that this has to be one of the most underwhelming castle visits I’ve experienced!
Being English Heritage members it cost us nothing to park and enter but had we had to pay it would have been £51.00 for the entry plus parking! That is ludicrous!
Yes the castle is a stunning place to look at and the views from the wall walk are amazing but the gift shop is tiny- and as you’d expect.. overpriced! We didn’t use the cafe as we brought our own food and drink with us, the toilets, although clean were tired, in need of painting and updating.
A few exhibits before you enter the wall walk we’re interesting but doable in about 15 minutes.
During the school holidays English Heritage joined forces with Taskmaster and had a few games for children in the grounds, again nothing fantastic but every little helps I guess.
I definitely would not return.
