点评:We were lucky to stay for two nights in February 2025 in one of their guest ensuite bedrooms. It really is a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the main Monteverde Road. The accommodation was well set-up and private, with freshly cooked breakfast each morning. It was a fascinating place to stay as one could spend hours walking and wildlife watching along the many trails that the family have in the land that is now the ecological sanctuary.
It was particularly interesting to see how multi-generations of the family have committed to managing the sanctuary, and interwoven many different business ventures of their own interests, including nature restoration, permaculture, B&B home-stays, local culinary and coffee experiences. Chris's coffee experience was one of the most thought-provoking tours I had in Costa Rica, and I learnt so much about a beverage that I drink almost every day but hadn't thought much more about it.
Additionally, it is very easy to book onto guided eco-tours as well as they regularly have guides come and lead small groups (ours were no larger than 8 pax) on wildlife walks through get sanctuary trails, including an amazing night tour!
Thank you!
