Great way to spend half a day around Zermatt
戈尔内格拉特登山火车的点评
点评：Cornergrat (3089m) is a very popular destination 35 minutes from Zermatt, reached by way of a electric cogwheel train. From the station, you are immediately rewarded with panoramic views of 29 snow capped peaks, including the famous Matterhorn on clear days. You'll see glaciers and even occasional marmots feeding or resting near the viewing platforms during summer months.
At Cornergrat you will also find a hotel, Say Cheese raclette and fondue specialist restaurant, gift shop, small chapel, outdoor exhibits related to the history of the mountain, terrain and building of the cogwheel rail line and station here at Cornergrat. There are also a series of short loop trails as well as longer treks descending to lower stations like Riffelberg and further down all the way to the Zermatt town centre.
We really enjoyed spending around 90 minutes at Gornergrat, enjoying the views, short walks in the area and a quick bite to eat at the Say Cheese restaurant, then we spend the next 3 hours walking the trails down to Zermatt, ending a great day in the outdoors around Zermatt.
