1920s Art Deco with modern twist

点评：Living only 22 mins walk from this piece of paradise within the city boundaries, I was blessed to be within the 5km radius for those early spring lockdown days.
On a prime summer's day it's walking parking only. I usually walk down and catch the bus back up the hill. Prime sand time has multiple beach umbrellas and those peskie Coollaba tents... with the art deco beach wall you could be mistaken for thinking you are in the south of France or Italy.
It has everything you need for a day outing, friends, family or with your own company. My friend will only swim within the dock area which is shark net enclosed. Personally I like the other end of the beach which is crystal clear water and if you keep walking past the people, you'll have a patch of sand to yourself. There is ample shade (again prime summer, you might need to share), and a gorgeous rotunda with an island outcrop for the kids to explore. At the other end, a sports oval for a game of soccer or cricket. Dog friendly on leash off the sand.
Eateries galore for every palete and price point, fish & chips, burgers on the sand, fruit smoothies or Kazzi's authentic Greek Souvlaki. The Boathouse has an over the water cocktail hour with Bathers Pavilion for the upmarket trend setters. Let's not forget multiple options for coffee or brunch for those early risers walking the promenade. All this whilst admiring the multi million homes which line the beach road and the hilltops behind.
With its calm inner harbour tides, the water is suitable for all swimming strengths.
