Great family outing for wildlife spotting, leaf peeping, listening to what "quiet" sounds like, and having for a picnic

点评：Easy access, and even free right now with Canada Pass initiative. (We visit without that too). It's right along the Yellowhead, and you often see some bison along the fence along the highway before turning in. This time we were taking grandkids, and they had a great time. First the visitor center to get up close to a stuffed Bison (really big) and get maps. Then out to drive in (slowly) and we saw several bison almost immediately not far from the road. The kids were amazed. Than we saw a hunting coyote jumping on mice. Next stop was the playground and picnic tables so the under 10 yr olds could have a great time climbing and running and swinging on everything in sight.
One suggestion: when you park at the lake, go to the right immediately for the washrooms before going left to the playground and picnic tables. For young kids, it's a long trek to the bathrooms.
