点评：We visited the Rice Museum a couple of days ago, and were really impressed with the dioramas, the artifacts, and our tour guide, Luke. The historical timeline was well laid out, with just the right amount of information about the evolution of Georgetown and the rice industry. However when we watched the video we disturbed by the way it seemed to glorify the rice production era and industry, and imply that the civil war that ended slavery was a sad event. The music and scenes during the explanation of rice production were light and happy, while the scenes after the civil war were dark and accompanied by grim music. I realize that this change was meant to convey that the reconstruction period was difficult for plantation owners. But the larger reality is that the rice production era was a travesty for thousands of enslaved human beings, and a positive time for only a handful of plantation owners, who became ultra-wealthy by brutally exploiting other humans. It's past time that we tell the full truth about slavery, including the fact that slaves only lived an average of 7 years after they were brought to rice plantations. To sum up, we love your museum but to stay relevant, it must tell the full truth about the rice era. Eliminate the video or create an updated version of it.
