点评：We spent four hours on the USS Midway, probably more than we expected. There is so much to see, and the basic walking tour is very easy to follow. There are audio connections at many of the sites onboard, and the free receiver worked very well. The explanations of different parts of the ship and how they were used were clear and plentiful. Life-size mannequins are used throughout, and they add a "real-life" atmosphere. There were many children visiting the day we were there, and most seemed enthralled by all they were seeing...too interested to be whiny or annoying! Not only does the ship let a visitor see how the carrier itself operated and all the many jobs required to run it, but there are also planes of all sorts for those interested in aviation. On the flight deck we attended a talk by former aviators explaining the take-off and landing process. It was very interesting but it did become a bit too long and technical for those who do not themselves fly planes. All in all, it was an experience well-worth the time and cost.
