点评:How can it be this bad? This used to be a place where local fishermen sold fresh, high quality, local seafood. Now the whole place is bad smelling circus tents with a rat problem. We were offered imported seafood prepared poorly. The vendors had mostly employed non-norwegian people with no knowledge of anything norwegian. And ridicoulsly high prices.
As the City of Bergen's own assessment is: “Today, the Fish Market in Bergen appears as an extremely unappealing marketplace, where the sole purpose is to serve quick seafood to unsuspecting tourists.”
City of Bergen's own assesment, that covers my experience as well, continues:
- That vendors serve the Spanish dish paella with imported seafood.
- That the fish soup tastes as if no fish stock was used, and that it is far from traditional Bergen fish soup.
- That the offerings are tailored to serve many guests at once.
- That the ingredients and the result of the cooking do not match the high price.
- The price is generally high, it’s luxurious ingredients prepared poorly
In conclusion, Fisketorget is a tourist trap and an exceptionally poor representation of Bergen as a food city"
