点评：One of Toledo's most important historical sights, the Monastery of San Juan de Los Reyes was constructed in the late 15th Century by los Reyes Católicos, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, to commemorate their victory over Portugal at the Battle of Toro. With it's stunning chapel and Mudéjar cloister, it's worth at least an hour of your time when visiting this spectacular city.
Strolling the exquisitely designed cloisters and church, you get a sense of how important the Catholic Monarchs were to the Kingdom of Spain -- this was intended to be their final resting place until religious and political winds shifted the burial site to Grenada. The chapel's magnificent design is a testament to the King and Queen, as well as to the rising power of the Spanish throne. You can also get a higher perspective from two of the second-story choir boxes, just off the Upper Cloister (the steep staircase makes for a tight squeeze, but is worth it for the view).
