Threave Garden & Nature Reserve的点评
点评：A superb garden and grounds with a nice house to top it off! The walled garden was exceptional, a fantastic display of kitchen garden plants and flowers - the gardeners must be very proud of their work. The house was also very pleasant and on a grand scale considering it was built as a simple hunting lodge! Manned by volunteers we were treated to a very good review of its history by a very eloquent guide in the entrance room of the house. In exploring the gardens we were lucky enough to see a deer and then on walking through the Nature Reserve we were treated to seeing two ospreys sitting on their respective nests close to the river Dee. Once again the viewing areas were manned by volunteers who had set up telescopes focused on the nests - great people to chat to and a wonderful experience to see the ospreys in such a picturesque and unspoilt landscape. The nature walks are a must ‘add on’ to the gardens if you can do the walking - all on the flat and worth the effort on a nice day. Overall a wonderful day and there is a great cafe ( + shop and small garden centre), to help you through the day! The National Trust at its best.
