New Mexico State Capitol Displays Amazing Art Collection -- And It's Free!

点评：Santa Fe has no shortage of places to view art, but visitors may be missing one of its finest collections -- the work by New Mexico artists that fill every nook and cranny of the impressive State Capitol Building built in 1966. And, best of all, it's free to visit.
We were unprepared to experience such a vast collection, but soon found ourselves going from floor to floor in the immaculate building and being amazed by the quality and variety of the art. Every possible type of art seemed to be represented, from paintings to prints, sculpture to furniture to photography.
That we knew few of the artists didn't really matter during our 90-minute visit. It was the breadth of art that impressed us, plus the way that it gave us different views of various scenes from New Mexico, a veritable trip around the state without any travel required.
It was an unforgettable art immersion, made all the more special because it was so unexpected.
