Avoid with little children… very rude volunteer name Esther

点评：Castle de Haar is a beautiful place to visit, with a rich history and an impressive setting. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the unfriendly behavior of a volunteer, Esther (a room guide).
My 4-year-old daughter was curious about the history of the rooms and tried to take an information card with photos and explanations from the holder. Instead of kindly guiding her, Esther snapped, "Can you not touch that?" This frightened my daughter, and she started to cry. Esther accused my daughter was messing around the cards and those are Spanish languages thus not for her to read. Total nonsense because my daughter who is only 4 and cannot read at all. She certainly cannot distinguish what language that was and those are for tourists to read! another staff member, Joyce, was understanding and acknowledged that my daughter had done nothing wrong. However, Esther never offered an apology. She was very rude and unfriendly to a small child.
Other parents told us that their children had also been spoken to in an unfriendly manner. This is disappointing because a historical heritage site should inspire young visitors rather than discourage them.
Castle de Haar remains a wonderful place to visit, but I hope the staff will be more welcoming and encouraging towards young children who are eager to learn in the future.
