点评：My visit to the museum started on a positive note, with a remarkable collection and thoughtfully arranged exhibitions covering a diverse range of artworks and historical pieces. The layout was commendable, creating an inviting space for exploring art and culture.
However, I was utterly disappointed to find that the object labels in the permanent section were exclusively in Dutch, alienating non-Dutch-speaking visitors and diminishing the museum’s reach. When I approached the reception to ask why additional language options weren’t provided, I was met with a shockingly shallow response: “We are a Dutch museum.” This response was not only vapid but also an intellectually narrow excuse that bordered on arrogance, suggesting an unwillingness to accommodate a broader audience.
A museum should serve as a bridge to knowledge and culture, not a barrier. Such a dismissive attitude does a disservice to both the collection and the visitors who come to engage with it. Clear explanations and inclusive presentation are essential for any museum that claims to value education and accessibility.
