BEWARE OF BED BUGS – A NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE

点评：I’m writing this as a warning to anyone considering a stay at Valens Conservation Area — do not book their cabins unless you’re prepared to bring bed bugs back home with you.
We rented a cabin for two nights. By the third day, we noticed bed bug bites all over our bodies. However, it was already too late — the bugs had hitched a ride home with us. What followed was an absolute nightmare: a full-scale infestation that cost us over $1,800 in extermination fees, professional laundry, and cleaning.
We immediately contacted Valens, and while they quickly apologized, refunded our stay, and offered two free nights, we never heard back when we asked how to actually access those nights. In the end—NO free nights. We explained the financial toll this situation had taken on us and politely requested the cash equivalent of the two nights instead. Their response? A flat NO.
Let that sink in — they know their cabin was infested, they know we suffered real consequences, but when we asked for a tiny fraction of help toward the huge costs we now face, they shut us down without a second thought.
This is unacceptable. Bed bugs are not a minor inconvenience — they are an expensive, stressful, and traumatic problem to deal with. And the fact that we got them from a "nature getaway" is infuriating.
Do yourself a favour: avoid Valens Conservation Area at all costs. The money you think you're saving by booking a cabin isn't worth the thousands you might spend cleaning up the disaster afterward. We’ll never return — and neither should you.
