点评：Really disappointing. Despite Google and other online links saying its open, they are now closed on Mondays (as is the main Stavanger museum and Art Museum, despite the largest cruise ship in Europe being docked in the city today)
We walked all the way up here, with a tired 3 year old egged on by the premise of Vikings. Despite being "closed", there were plenty of people wandering around inside
It turns out P&O cruises have a grubby deal with the museum to only let in cruise guests who pay P&O's extortionate organised tour prices
As an academic back in the UK, I do plenty of outreach work and all I can to support open, accessible access to our knowledge of the world and its history. To see a museum in a money-grab deal with a cruise line to the unnecessary exclusion of the rest of the public is such a terrible shame, an affront to everything museums should stand for, and a pretty rubbish advert for the city more generally. I hope those involved are embarrassed - you've ruined my toddler's very first day in Norway, as I had to explain to him why only "special people" could learn about the Vikings today
