点评：We came to thirlestane with a hope to have a nice look around the castle. Our expectations were exceeded! This was more than just a visit, we were greeted by two lovely guides (helen and caroline) who were both warm, kind and extremely knowledgeable! We were all astounded by their immense knowledge and clear passion for this castle and its rich history and heritage. This visit was teeming with history in every room, we could’ve spent hours in each one, looking into the closer details. At the end of the tour we were guided into what was previously servants quarters which has now been transformed into a cosy tearoom, we were offered complementary tea/coffee and a gorgeous sweet treat. we enjoyed this sat by the window with a lovely view of the expansive garden and grounds which were home to a lovely flock of sheep which had lambs, a lovely addition to the visit. This experience was very much worth the cheap admission fee and the tour felt very personal and bespoke. We had the lovely opportunity to speak to the guides who went out of their way to answer questions and make sure we were enjoying our time. This visit will be a long lasting positive memory and i’m sure we’ll be back. Thank you for an amazing experience.
