点评：If you're looking for something unique to give to friends or family this is definitely a spot to consider. The 4711 house started making Eau de Cologne (Water from Cologne) in the 1700s and has used the same recipe to make it for over 200 years. The shop sells different sized bottles and body washes for those that like the original scent. There are also a variety of other scents that you can sample in the store. Upstairs there is a small exhibit that shows their packaging used over the last 200 years and gives a brief history of the company. If you email in advance you can book a tour of the 4711 House but the staff said you have to email well in advance if you're interested. If we stop in Cologne again, we would consider it. We enjoyed learning about he cologne from Cologne.
The original cologne has a refreshing citrus smell and is made to smell like walking in an Italian spring. Most of the scents have pleasant notes like this and we got a few bottles as gifts. We thought it was surprisingly affordable.
The 4711 House is located about a 10 minute walk away from the Cologne Cathedral. There are shops throughout Cologne that will allow you to sample and buy the original perfume but we felt going to the original location was worth our time. We spent about 20 minutes here.
