For internet users old and young - this museum demonstrates a technology that now ensures reliable internet service
French Cable Station Museum的点评
点评:We have visited this museum several times over the last 10 years, and each time it seems to have gotten even better! This time we had the tour presented to us in French - there were three French speakers with us - and it went very well. Don and Margaret were just great, knowledgeable and very personable. I was particularly interested to see that the museum has brought on an archivist to go through all the papers of the telegraph company and to scan them, with the intent of making them available to researchers. The basement is now set up as a research center. It is quite an accomplishment that this museum is taking the initiative to preserve the history of the transatlantic cable, particularly as it was the forerunner of the underwater international cables that are still being used, now for internet rather than telegraph. Forget the internet pioneers and satellites - this is really how it started, and how it remains. By going back in time, one is really seeing the present and perhaps even the future.
