Well worth a visit.
Dunfermline Abbey and Palace的点评
点评：There is pay and display parking nearby, then walk uphill towards the abbey, passing through the gatehouse on the way. what isn't obvious is how to get in. We walked all the way round the abbey, finding the exit before we found the entrance, and were then directed to the gatehouse to pay. A simple sign as you the steps at the abbey would have alleviated this as everyone was being directed and the member of staff must have been fed up of directing people.
Once you've paid you can access the gatehouse, the palace, by descending down steps (or you can view it from above anyway), a small museum and then access to the cathedral. The oldest part is the bit you enter first and is of course the most interesting, with lovely carved stone pillars and some ceiling paintings. There are information boards dotted around and a recreation of Robert the Bruce's face and how they did it. The newer part if still interesting and has a light, airy feel. It has a Tiffany glass window inset into a free standing wall and a brass memorial to Bruce. I particularly liked the information about the various stained glass windows as this is rare in many churches.
Nearby is Pittencrieff Park, Andrew carnegie's birthplace and the Abbots House if you have time.
