点评：A Visitor’s Reflection on Barbados
Barbados is a beautiful and welcoming island, with hospitality at its very best. The people are warm, the culture is rich, and the island is truly unforgettable.
However, as a friendly visitor, I must highlight two points that deserve more attention:
1. Sanitation – Too much littering is visible across the island. More frequent street cleaning would help Barbados shine even brighter.
2. Recognition of a World Icon – Woolly Hewitt
• My wife (an artist) and I were fortunate to meet Woolly Hewitt, an internationally recognized artist whose work is celebrated around the world.
• Yet, here in Barbados, his art seems overlooked. Many hotels display printed art instead of showcasing his original, authentic Barbadian pieces.
• I personally purchased a beautiful chattel house painting from him — a true original. But I only discovered him by chance through other visitors.
Questions worth asking:
• Why isn’t Woolly Hewitt’s work displayed in Barbadian hotels, where visitors could connect with authentic art by a world icon?
• Why is his name better known abroad than here at home?
