点评：Our cruise ship stopped in Messina for one day and since we’d previously visited Taormina and Mt. Etna, we decided on Sicily Legend's’ shore excursion to Messina and Tindari. We were so lucky to have Rosario as our guide. He was amazing — extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and entertaining. He knows so much about the history of Messina and Sicily, giving me insight into what my family experienced in the years before they immigrated to the U.S.
He picked us up at our cruise terminal and drove us to beautiful Tindari, located on the Gulf of Patti. The views of the Aeolian Islands and the Stromboli volcano were amazing. We toured the ruins of the old town and the acropolis (c. 396 B.C.) as well as visiting the Sanctuary and learning the fascinating story of the Black Madonna. Back to Messina for a tour of the area, a visit to the Regional Interdisciplinary Museum of Messina (MuMe) and a stop to get a true Sicilian cannoli (just like my grandma use to make!). It was a wonderful day …don’t hesitate to book a tour with Sicily Legends. So worth it!
