点评:American pioneer whose exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the US. He became famous for his exploration and settlement of Kentucky
We were so excited to find this person of notoriety. Historical Marker #113. This gravesite was very well done. Markers led us right to him with a title sign. A chained pathway took us down to his monument which overlooks the river and the city of Frankfort. Lots of green plants surrounding make it such a beautiful and serene place. The monument had amazing art plates around each side. Was so nice walking around and taking it all in. A great
Daniel and Rebecca Boone were the first to be laid to rest in the Frankfort Cemetery.
Previously buried near their final home in Missouri they were moved here
with a great ceremony in September 1845.
Definitely worth the stop to check out!
