点评:I'm writing this review after the whisky tasting, so my judgement might be somewhat clouded ;)
First of all a massive thanks to our tour guide Jed! The size of his personality and knowledge of whisky were only matched by the size of his moustache.
Being the first whisky I ever tasted, Strathisla holds a special place in my heart (this review is obviously with no bias whatsoever). It was interesting to see how classic craftsmanship was upheld to retain the original flavours, whilst integrating modern technologies to streamline the process. I really enjoyed how we were encouraged to use not just sight, but also smell, taste and touch throughout the tour. It was a little loud in places, but hearing protection was available.
As some of the more experienced drinkers will know, Strathisla is no longer available outside of Scotland. As far as I knew, everything went into Chivas. It filled me with great joy to find out there is a store on site that still has a wide selection of Strathisla single malts.
All in all, well worth the time.
