Underwhelming and overpriced

点评：Unfortunately, there is nothing special about this spa, and for almost £300pp, I was expecting so much more.
The pool is standard, and they don't have enough beds for the number of people using the spa so we were standing around waiting for someone to leave to get a bed by the pool. How bizarre?
The facilities were pretty ordinary - normal sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Again, was expecting more like other spas which do the fire and ice experiences with lots of different rooms to go to.
The lunch was really underwhelming. I was expecting a restaurant style service, but you get an option of about 6 or 7 options, things like wraps or poke bowls. Two courses offered with the main and a dessert.
When it came, it was pretty standard. I enjoyed my salmon poke bowl but my friend was really disappointed with her chicken terryjaki boke bowl - the chicken was plain and it just came with a dressing on the side. Where you have lunch is far from a restaurant, but more like a bar. Very small, and the service wasn't brilliant. We had to go and find someone to ask about getting a drink because the staff were pretty scarce in the food area.
The relaxation room is a plus - very relaxing and well laid out.
The massage was lovely and that part was very relaxing and a highlight of the day. However, not worth the price we paid for the day though.
All in all the massage staff and reception ladies were really lovely and very helpful. I was just totally underwhelmed with the whole experience. Probably one of the more standard spa's i've been to, but certainly the most expensive and I have no idea why they feel they can charge this much.
We won't be revisting. It's definitely not worth the money. Places like Hanbury manor offer a better spa service (lunch in particular is great!) and far more affordable.
