点评:We WALKED from our Hobart hotel to the Shot Tower. Took 2nrs40mins... quite a walk but we were eventually rewarded with the tearoom's special Devonshire teas to revive us before climbing the Tower steps. 2 pots of tea, extra hot water, an awesome basket of 4 large scones - crunchy on the outside & warm & fresh inside, 2 didfferent jams & lashings of cream. All served on Royal Albert fine china. What a treat. We certainly earned it after the walk. Then came the climb, but through a mini museum first, with artefacts, documents & plaques decribing the history of the tower's design & building. Through a door & then came the long climb upwards around the tower. Well worn wooden steps but safely enclosed with mesh & guard rails. The 360 degree view, once you reach the top, is amazing. Well worth a visit. Decided to catch a bus back to Hobart - an inexpensive activity. Devonshire tea $15 each, entry (concession) $8 each, bus FREE on public transport.
