Lost its sparkle
温德米尔布罗克霍尔湖的点评
点评：We have been to Brockhole on several occasions and always had a really good time. It is expensive but the grounds, events and food choices have been brilliant.
We went on Easter Saturday for the treetop nets and the egg hunt. We were shocked at how run down and neglected the place had become. The main house has now closed down and is no longer a restaurant. The shop and small museum bit off the shop were closed for refurbishment but looked bandied. The gardens were inaccessible and overgrown and there were still skeletons on the trees which were obviously for the Halloween event but had not been taken down. Left over empty egg signs from last years Easter event and the closure of the BBQ food area and fish and chip cart meant food was limited to Joey’s cafe. Sausage rolls were dry and the food choice consisted of cheese and mushroom, cheese and tomorrow or another vegetable panini. They were disgusting.
Normally, you cannot get a parking spot on a bank holiday unless you have booked activities so we were expecting to be diverted to another car park. Got a spot no problem as clearly others have recognised how downhill this place has gone.
The toilet block has also been removed from the playground so you have to walk a fair way to use the facilities.
This is such ashame as Brockhole was amazing and I do hope it is just a blip and everything will reopen soon and the attention it deserves given to it!.
