Dover Museum And Bronze Age Boat Gallery的点评
点评：We visited the Dover Museum as part of our recent short break. As far as local museums go, it is one of the better ones I have visited. The exhibits trace the history of Dover from the earliest times, and include displays on the Roman period, Saxon times, and then into the modern era. The prize of the collection is the Bronze Age boat which may be the oldest example of an ocean going vessel in the world. The boat gallery has a video on its discovery, reclamation, and display. Another video tells of a modern reproduction of the vessel and how it was researched, built, and tested. Part of the reproduction is also in the museum. The building techniques including the lashing of portions together with yew fibers was very interesting. This is a must see for those interested in maritime history. The museum is accessible via a ramp, and a lift is available to get to the boat gallery. Disabled parking is available behind the building.
