Visited Malta lots of times…but first time at Popeye Village

点评：We are a family with a 10-year-old and 12-year-old. We’ve been coming to Malta for many years but I’ve never visited Popeye Village…… until today. It was a great place to spend a few hours. There is plenty to see and lots of little sideshows throughout the day to watch for about 20 minutes each time. Your entrance fee also cover covers use of the inflatable course at the bottom of the cove. This can get quite busy in the summer months but there are lifeguards watching it to stop unruly behaviour.
There are four obstacle courses to do and parents can swim beside each of them. However, lifejackets are not worn so you will need to watch your children.
There are beach cabanas to use, which are free of charge as well.
Before you head down into the actual village, there was also some entertainment at the top of the site. There are some games to play as well as two swimming pools and some small waterslides for children age 10 and under. The swimming pools are 1.2 m deep and and can hold up to 12 people per pool. There are two pools.
They are also changing rooms around the pools as well as freshwater showers at the pools and also down by the cove. There is a café on site and a bar. And with the children’s and adults tickets you get some free popcorn at the cinema on site which is in the main Popeye Village. Here they show a video about the history of the site on the making of the film.
All in all, I would recommend this as a place to visit when you are staying in Malta. Probably good for families with children under 10 years old for the swimming pools and small slides and games on site. Teenagers are also well catered for as the obstacle course is more geared towards them.
I would say a visit is at least three hours long…4.5 hours is probably the average length of the visit but you could easily stay all day!
