Much bigger and more interesting than I expected
佩尔盖古城的点评
点评：We visited Perge while staying in Antalya and it ended up being one of the places I enjoyed most on this trip. I expected to spend maybe an hour looking around, but the site is much larger than it first appears and there is a lot more to see once you start walking through it.
The colonnaded street was probably my favorite part. Walking between the ruins gives you a much better sense of the scale of the ancient city than simply looking at individual structures. There are also remains of the baths, gates and other buildings spread across the site, so it never felt like we were just looking at the same thing over and over again.
We took our time and spent a couple of hours here. I think that was the right amount for us, especially because the site is quite open and there is not much shade in many areas. If you are visiting in warm weather, I would definitely bring water, wear comfortable shoes and avoid rushing around in the hottest part of the day.
One thing I liked about Perge is that it feels easy to explore independently. You can simply walk through the ruins at your own pace, stop where something catches your attention and then continue on. We were with family and never felt like we needed to follow a strict route.
The stadium area and some of the larger structures were also impressive because they make it easier to imagine how significant the city once was. Even without knowing every historical detail, there is enough left here to make the visit interesting.
I would not try to combine Perge with too many other major sights on the same day. It is the kind of place that is much better when you give yourself enough time to walk slowly and actually look around rather than treating it as a quick photo stop.
Overall, I thought Perge was absolutely worth the visit. It is easy to reach from Antalya, large enough to feel substantial, and much more engaging than I expected. If you enjoy ancient ruins and want something that feels less rushed than a city attraction, I would definitely recommend adding it to an Antalya itinerary.
