Could have spent a whole day in the area . . .

点评：This was included as part of a tour from a cruise ship, and it was worthwhile. We were in the area for about two hours, focussing on Fort Santiago. The tour started off with a short video in one of the information centers, which was worthwhile, as it gave a good introduction into the 450-year history of the area.
We spent the remainder of the time touring what remains of the fort, including the famous gate. Although the tour had a guide, there is some English-language signage explaining the various sections of the fort, which was also helpful.
Only complaint - for the fort, two hours was adequate, but the area as a whole really deserves a whole day. While the area was almost completely destroyed during WWII, quite a bit of restoration has been done, so there is already much to see, and work on restoration continues. We didn't see any of the museums or the churches. Next time, perhaps.
